Taping and JointingTape and jointing system is used for the seamless jointing of plaster boards to walls and ceiling. Jointing of all flat, internal and external corner joints is achieved with the application of joint filler and joint cement. The process is multi-staged and involves bedding the tape with joint filler.
This must be done correctly and evenly requiring a great deal of expertise. The joint cement then blends the joints into the wall, covering the tape. This is followed by a finer topcoat with a trowel. When dry, this is then sanded down to leave a smooth surface ready for decoration.
This means for faster setting and drying times, obviously permitting quicker decoration. Only a small amount of material is required on site compared to wet plaster.
